The hour with your client is the work you trained for. What steals the week is everything around it: chasing forms, unfinished notes, invoices that wait until midnight, software fees that still arrive on a quiet month.
A lot of tools are built like clinic claiming systems, or “free” until credits and add-ons blur the bill. You did not open a private practice to run someone else's admin machine.
Reception Star is for solo and small private practice in Australia: no monthly seat, 97¢ per appointment when you work, private by design, and a week that stays with the client work: booking, intake, notes, invoice, paid.
They book and prepare
Share a booking page, or put them in the diary yourself. Send intake and informed consent by secure link so details arrive before the session.
You see them and write the note
The note sits on that appointment. Add a body chart when your work needs one. Skip charts if you never use them.
You invoice the same week
We can suggest an invoice from the appointment. You check it and send it. Clients can pay from the invoice link when you connect a processor.

That means private practice where clients pay you (or pay a gap after their own rebate). Counsellors, therapists, bodywork, and other practitioners with that rhythm.
It is not for lodging Medicare bulk-bill, private health (HICAPS), DVA, or NDIS claims from inside the software. If that is your daily work, use a tool built for it.
You can keep a Medicare or NDIS number on a client file for your own records. That is not the same as electronic claiming.
Sensitive client fields and clinical content are encrypted before they are stored, not only locked on the disk.
We hold the application keys. This is not end-to-end encryption. We say that plainly so you can decide.
Hosted in Australia. We do not sell your data or show ads against it.

All prices AUD, excluding GST. 97¢ is the Reception Star fee per appointment (reminders included in that fee: one SMS or two, same Reception Star charge). No monthly seat. Card processors charge their own rates when clients pay by card.
If Reception Star is not right for you, we refund the Reception Star fees you paid in the first 90 days.
Does not cover card processor disputes or clinical obligations.
